Press Releases

Milford, CT November 11, 2016

To serve those who have served our country, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recognizes the need for VA providers to communicate with non-VA providers about common patients. In the VA’s 2014 Blueprint for Excellence the VA states: “Interoperability with private sector is essential for Veterans to have care that is informed and integrated with non-VHA providers.”

This Veteran’s Day, Link-In Benefits (www.linkinbenefits.com) is proud to be working with Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) to bridge the gap that exists between the VA and Medicare Advantage Organizations.  Link-In Benefits’ solution for improved interoperability provides important advantages to Medicare Advantage Organizations. Currently the MAOs lack information about their Veterans who treat at the VA. They may not be aware of conditions for which members only treat at the VA, and may not know about preventive services Veterans have received.  Leveraging the information about care received at the VA improves Veteran care management and engagement, and provides the opportunity to positively impact the measurements the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) uses to metric MAOs.

“Our mission is to bridge the gap between care received at VA and non-VA facilities.  As more and more of America’s seniors avail themselves of Medicare Advantage plans, the opportunity to build better coordinated care with the VA grows larger and larger.” said Link-In Benefits President Sean Libby.  “As we say ‘thank you for your service’ to our Veterans, we at Link-In Benefits are proud to be working with our nation’s Medicare Advantage plans to improve the healthcare of Veterans.”

The Link-In for Veterans program is available to Medicare Advantage plans throughout the country.

Milford, CT August 10, 2016 Two executives with backgrounds at the intersection of managed care and government benefits, have announced the launch of a new company serving the Medicare Managed Care industry.

Alan Flaumenhaft and Sean Libby started Link-In Benefits (www.linkinbenefits.com) to serve Veterans in Medicare Managed Care.  Link-In Benefits will help Medicare Advantage plans and their Veteran members by helping Veterans to maximize their use of all the benefits they have earned.

Link-In Benefits’ Medicare Advantage offering, Link-In for Veterans, is designed to inform Veterans about a wide variety of programs and to make it easier for them to access those benefits.  It delivers customer-focused solutions that give Veterans the information they need in an easy to understand format. Link-In for Veterans also enables systematic communication with the Medicare Advantage plan about care received at the VA.

“In a typical Medicare Advantage plan, 8-9% of the existing membership will be enrolled in Veterans Healthcare benefits offered through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our mission is to ensure these Veterans get the most from the benefits they have earned,” said Link-In Benefits President Sean Libby.  “In addition, we help Medicare Advantage plans to bridge the gap between care received by their Veteran-Members at the VA and through the Medicare Advantage network.”

As more and more Veterans enroll in Medicare Advantage plans, the need to understand and optimize the care these Veterans receive at the VA becomes all the more pronounced. Too often, VA care exists in a silo, with no systematic communication to Medicare Advantage providers. Link-In for Veterans facilitates this needed communication.

Link-In Benefits is excited to have recently joined AHIP and to bring information about this innovative offering to AHIP’s member Medicare Advantage plans. The Link-In for Veterans program is now available to Medicare Advantage plans throughout the country.
